New retail crime team

From December, Oldham town centre will benefit from the introduction of a dedicated Retail Crime Team. This specialist team will work alongside existing neighbourhood officers to tackle retail crime, antisocial behaviour, and violent incidents, ensuring a safer and more secure environment for businesses, shoppers, and the wider community.

The Retail Crime Team will also support neighbourhood policing teams across Oldham in targeting repeat retail crime offenders, helping to reduce reoffending and strengthen partnerships with local businesses.

This initiative reflects our ongoing commitment to improving public safety and supporting the local economy by addressing issues that impact retailers and residents alike.
